Manchester United are reportedly weighing up whether to send Mason Greenwood out on loan this summer as the club continues their internal investigation around the suspended forward
Manchester United are said to be considering sending suspended forward Mason Greenwood out on loan this summer.
Earlier this year, charges of attempted rape, assault and controlling and coercive behaviour brought against the 21-year-old were dropped, with the England international's future at Old Trafford still uncertain.
"I am relieved that this matter is now over and I would like to thank my family, loved ones and friends for their support," read a statement from Greenwood after the charges were dropped.
"There will be no further comment at this time."
The club launched their own internal investigation into Greenwood, ahead of a decision on his future. And that move could reportedly see the forward sent out on loan to one of three countries this summer.
According to the Daily Mail, United are weighing up whether to send Greenwood out on loan, with a move to Italy, Spain or Turkey mooted as the three most like options.
A return to first-team duties for the forward is expected to provoke strong feelings amongst the general public, something which United will want to gauge when it comes to deciding upon their next move.
A loan move abroad for a season would give the Red Devils time to continue its investigation, as well as give them added time to consider Greenwood's future.
Additionally, a move abroad would also afford Greenwood playing time, something he has not had since after being suspended by the club way back in January 2022.
The suspended striker is reportedly a target for Juventus this summer.
Manchester United ended the season with defeat in the FA Cup final to rivals Manchester City. Though the Red Devils did add silverware to their trophy cabinet this campaign, winning the Carabao Cup.
