IT'S COMING HOME! You may have heard this being sung and chanted a LOT more since England made it to the final of Euro 2024. Big shops and restaurants taking advantage of the euphoria to attract summer holiday makers to a 50% discount sales and shopping spree this weekend. It's coming home, and if England eventually wins Euro 2024 this Sunday, then the celebration are likely to span over the next few weeks.
Now, as English fans head to Berlin for the final of the Euros, we take a deeper look into this famous song.
The words are from a famous song called Three Lions which - you guessed it - was written as an English football anthem.
It was first penned for the Euro '96 competition by two comedians, Frank Skinner and David Baddiel (who you might know as the author of books; The Parent Agency and The Person Controller), and a band called the Lightning Seeds.

England vs Spain Preview
England and Spain will bring to a close a month of festival football at the Euros, where current and former icons have fallen while new stars have risen.
The last final resulted in England defeated on home soil, which is a perfect place to start our look back at some of the previous Euro showpiece matches.
Much as in 1996, when England reached the Euros semifinals, the chant once again rang around the hills and valleys of England that football was “coming home”. After a gruelling 120 minutes, on the hallowed turf of Wembley Stadium in London, UK, it was Italy that claimed the Euro 2020 title in a heartbreaking defeat for the English.
Three young lions had been the heroes of the tournament for Gareth Southgate’s side – and icons for a new generation of English hopes and dreams – so it was the cruellest of ironies that it was Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka and Jadon Sancho to miss their penalties in the shootout.
Luke Shaw, who, along with Saka, hopes to start against Spain on Sunday, opened the scoring in the second minute of the match but Leonardo Bonucci levelled midway through the second half. Saka, only 19 at the time, was left in tears on the pitch but was to face far worse when leaving the field.
The Arsenal forward, and his fellow teammates who missed their kicks, were subjected to a torrent of vile racist abuse through social media that shocked all of England in the days that followed and far outweighed the feeling of deflation on the field. For Italy, it continued a 34-match unbeaten run as they lifted a second Euro crown.
England making the second consecutive finals are even more confident they can give Spain a run for their money. And the chants are all over England once again, this weekend "Football is coming home."
While, it will only be that the English fans are just trying to motivate their team and we hope it doesn't end another false hope. History May Repeat Itself!
Looking at the tournament stats you could quickly observe that La Rojas have had an edge over every other team that participated in the tournament. Spain is the only team that have won all their games at play time, without penalty shootout.
The young Lammie Yammal and Nico Williams has taking the shine off big stars like Kylian Mbappe, Ronaldo... And Ballon d'Or hopefuls Jude Bellingham, Foden and other exciting England stars Bukayo Saka may use this final to redeem their season status.
Well, football is highly unpredictable. According to Roy Keane, the better team don't always win. It's about taking one game at a time, because every game has it's unique dynamics; and anything can happen within 90 minutes that could swing the game to the other side.
