Youths within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State have expressed their appreciation to the state governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, for his recognition and promotion of youths in his administration.
The youths, representing the three senatorial districts and 18 local government areas of the state, have described the inclusion of youths in governance and politics under Governor Akeredolu as unprecedented.
In a statement signed by three Senatorial Youth leaders and the 18 youth leaders representing the local government areas, they thanked the Governor for providing youths with the opportunity to thrive in various political offices within the state.
The statement reads: "In this month of September, we deeply appreciate the Executive Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN, CON, for the remarkable inclusion of youths thus far in his government.
"Your Excellency, the privilege you have afforded the youths of Ondo State to excel in various political offices under your leadership is truly rare and commendable.
"This gesture will have a lasting impact on the Ondo State community, particularly among our ambitious youths. We hope for more of such gestures in the remaining part of Your Excellency's administration.
"We pray that the God of the youths, whom you have empowered politically, will continue to uphold you and bring success to everything concerning you, Sir.
"We also sincerely appreciate and commend the Ondo State APC Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimeyin, and other notable leaders of the party across the state for their roles and efforts in ensuring the active participation of our youths in governance.
"Sir, the various platforms you have provided for the youths to utilize in seeking various elective offices, ranging from Councillors and Chairmen to House Assembly Members and House of Representatives Members, as well as other appointive positions, are clear evidence of your inclusive and dynamic leadership.
"Once again, we express our heartfelt gratitude to Governor Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN, CON, and our Party Chairman, Engr Ade Adetimehin, for their foresight, encouragement, and support in fostering a more inclusive political landscape in our state.
"We are committed to making positive changes in our respective Local Governments, the State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
"In conclusion, like Oliver Twist, the youths of Ondo State will continue to advocate for more active participation in governance. We eagerly anticipate more opportunities as the forthcoming Local Government Elections in the State approach.
"We humbly request His Excellency, the Party Chairman, and other party leaders across the State to generously provide the youths with ample opportunities in governance."
