Tottenham's stars may well be looking forward to a fresh start under new boss Ange Postecoglou, though the Australian's hardened style of management may not be for everyone
Whoever said all Australians are laid-back never saw Ange Postecoglou doing post-match analysis after a disappointing result.
The 57-year-old's move from Celtic to Tottenham was confirmed on Tuesday, signalling a fresh start for Spurs after a sensitive period in their history. However, it doesn't look like Postecoglou will suffer fools gladly based on one inside peek at his management style.
Old footage has resurfaced of the newly unveiled Spurs chief laying into his players after a disappointing result during his time in charge of Australia. The Greek-born tactician led the Socceroos between 2013 and 2017, having represented his adopted country four times as a player in the 1980s.
And fans could see just how much it meant to be managing his nation as part of a documentary aired on Paramount+ Australia. The Melbourne native has built a reputation for his straight-talking approach in the media, but 'Ange Unseen' showed that's nothing compared to what his players might be subjected to.
"We've got to be better than this, we must be better," Postecoglou can be seen exclaiming to his players as they sit in a darkened room watching game tape before punching the screen in frustration. "That's just careless.
"And not only that - stop it there for a second - there's one, two, three [defenders]. . .we cannot f***ing concede there! There's f***ing got to be a reaction there! Someone! F***'s sake!"
There may just be a few hair-pulling moments in store at Spurs, who finished eighth in the Premier League this past season having won just two of their last eight games. One of Postecoglou's main priorities will be plugging a defence that leaked 63 goals in 38 league games - only five other teams conceded more.
Replies to the video in question hailed the veteran as a 'fantastic manager' and a 'legend'. One impressed fan remarked the display of passion 'proves how much he cares' about winning, which is something Spurs could do with after seeing Antonio Conte and Ryan Mason leave the helm in recent months.

Postecoglou has earned rave reviews among fans and fellow managers for promoting an attacking brand of football with multiple teams. Even Manchester City chief Pep Guardiola is looking forward to his arrival in England's top flight, calling his peer 'an exceptional manager'.
After winning a J1 League title with Yokohama F. Marinos in 2019, Postecoglou found his way to Celtic in 2021. The Glasgow giants were restored as Scotland's superpower under his charge, winning back-to-back league titles with an impressive influx of Japanese talents like Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda.
Postecoglou left Celtic having won 73.45% of his games - only Martin O'Neill (75.53%) boasts more among the club's permanent bosses. Conte's brand of 'tough love' failed to produce the desired results at Spurs, but Postecoglou will hope he's got the right touch to inspire success.
