As ecomiums continue to pour in over the recent approval and granting of license to Ondo Deep Sea Port by the federal government yesterday, a philanthropist, Amb. Ayodeji Oritedi Victor, on Thursday disclosed that the Port would shore up the economy as well as provide gainful employment for teeming youths.
The philanthropist and Public affairs analyst, stated this in separate letters signed by him, dated May 17th, 2023 and addressed to the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and the Minister of State for Transportation, Prince Ademola Adegoroye.
In the letters, Oritedi who congratulated Akeredolu and Adegoroye, respectively, acknowledged that their assiduous efforts chanelled to making the deep sea port a reality have paid off.
The letter to Akeredolu read, “It is a thing of great joy to the people of Ondo South Senatorial District, and the good people of Ondo State at large under your able watch as the Federal Government approved the Ondo State Deep Sea Port and granting Operating license.
“We know and appreciate your tenacity and efforts in making this a reality as this is a true demonstration of your zeal to increase the revenue and the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of our State.
“This will in large measure bring more businesses to Ondo State via the maritime window as our teeming Youths will be gainfully employed which will in turn reduce or even eradicate insecurity and restiveness in our Dear State.
“Your Excellency Sir, you have written your name in gold and you will ever remain in the hearts of the people of Ondo State as your tenure as the Executive Governor ushered in the most people oriented programmes in our State.
“Once again, we say congratulations for the great milestone achieved during your reign.
“We pray that our Heavenly Father grant you good health, vitality and wisdom as we are sure of greater National tasks coming your way.
Oritedi's letter to Prince Adegoroye reads, “We the good people of Ondo South Senatorial District and Ondo State at large heartily congratulate and appreciate your immense contributions that midwife the approval of the Ondo Deep Sea Port by the Federal Government.
“When you were appointed as the Minister for Transportation (State) in 2022, we were very optimistic that given your track records and competence in the Maritime world, you will attract huge developmental projects to our dear State.
“The approval of this Ondo Deep Sea Port is a testament to the fact that you are truly a round peg in a round hole and you have demonstrated your prowess in ensuring that this project becomes a reality.
“In view of the above, we wholeheartedly congratulate you for this great stride and we pray to God Almighty to give you more strength as you bring in more lucrative projects in our State to improve the lives of our people.
